Kara and Brad - June 4 2010

Ceremoney at Christians United Church
Reception at the Garrison
Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, IN
I had just met Kara 3 months prior, just a few weeks after Isabelle was born. Her and Brad met in college and he was being deployed to the middle-east, so they were planning a wedding in a very short amount of time. I was awed at how beautifully everything was put together - Kara must be a planning genius! Kara was the calmest, coolest, most pulled together bride of the year. Her and Brad made my job so easy - they were up for anything and trusted every move I made. Thank you both for a wonderful, wonderful day!

My favorite moment of the day -- of course in rehearsal the flower girl didn't actually DROP any of the flowers, so when she started to at the ceremony, the poor ring bearer was in a tizzy! He kept trying to stop her to tell her she was dropping the flowers! She just looked at him like she was crazy. Hahahahaha. . . after several lost attempts, he stops what he's doing, runs back, and starts picking up all of the flowers she had dropped. Flower girl just keeps walking. . . he runs back up to her again and gives her her flowers. She continues dropping them. He continues to run back to pick them up. (Meanwhile, leaving the pillow with the rings behind!) Mom had to come to the rescue, and all was well. All I gotta say is he is going to grow up to be QUITE the gentleman!

Erin and Jeff

On May 15th I shot down town at St. Mary's Catholic Church and Crown Plaza (Union Station) for Erin and Jeff's wedding. Jeff's dad works with my dad. I'd also shot maternity and newborn pictures for Jeff's sister. So we already knew eachother well and I was super excited to be spending even more time with their wonderful family.
St. Mary's and Crowne Plaza are a photographer's dream because everywhere you turn there is something beautiful to photograph. My favorite part of the day was taking the carriage ride from the Plaza to the church. Egh - it took a little longer than expected - but the trip was totally worth it! It was so relaxing and really forced everyone to slow down and just take a moment to take it all it. It was really magical. And we still (of course) got all of the pictures we needed in - and we got some fabulous pictures, at that!!

Tierra and Rusty

I can still vividly remember meeting Tierra and Rusty for the first time. A photographer always loves going into a meeting knowing they have nothing to "sell". Brides and couples (and mother-in-laws, and father-in-laws, etc etc) either like your style or they don't. There really is no "selling" with wedding photography - I always think of meetings as more of a getting-to-know-eachother deal. Hopefully by my blog and website, they are already a fan. Now we just need to see if we click or not. And we definately did! Tierra was so sweet and friendly from the second I met her; I was so excited to shoot for her!
They held a beautiful wedding at Valle Vista in Greenwood. My favorite part about this couple is how close you could tell they were to their friends and family. It's like EVERYONE was family!! Lee was shooting another wedding downtown, so I brought along my mentor, Stuart Meyer, to shoot as my assistant. It was the first time for the shoes to be on the other feet!! I had a blast -- thanks to EVERYONE involved!

Jessica and David

WOW am I behind on blogging!!!

I realize it's the end of July and I'm just now getting to my April weddings. Youch! So - February came and I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl, Isabelle Anna-Marie. I started shooting again in April, and my first wedding was a bit ironic. The bride and groom were family of Bennie and Kelly - the couple whose wedding I shot 2 days after I found out I was pregnant with Isabelle! Even funnier, they held their wedding reception at the same location Lee and I had our; the Rathskeller! AND I find out later, that Jessica is actually friends with one of my family members, and we never knew it. What a small world.

Their wedding was beautiful; a perfect start back into the swing of things after my maternity leave. We shot at multiple locations before the ceremony, and the bridal party was SO on top of it! Not to mention Jessica had the best brides-maids on the planet. I love with you get a group of beautiful girls together who are really totally there for the bride. And so full of compliments :) Loved it.

Here are a few of my favorite shots!
